Fact-Checking Policy

What gets checked

Every factual statement in an article is checked before publication. That includes:

• Prices, fee ranges and any figure presented as a number.
• Product and service specifications, including warranty and return terms.
• Availability — cities, delivery coverage, opening hours, online-only status.
• Accreditation, registration and recognition claims.
• Dates, names and spellings of brands, institutions and places.

Source hierarchy

When sources disagree, we prefer them in this order:

• Official primary sources — the organisation's own published pages, terms and price lists.
• Regulatory and accreditation registers — official listings that can be independently checked.
• Established secondary reporting — used only where a primary source does not exist, and named.
• Aggregated public feedback — used to describe patterns, never as a standalone factual claim.

Verification steps

Each claim is traced back to a source, the source is recorded with the date it was consulted, and the claim is written so it does not overstate what the source supports. Claims that cannot be verified are either removed or clearly labelled as unconfirmed. Nothing is published on the basis of a single unverifiable claim.

Prices, fees and availability change

Pricing and availability move faster than any publishing schedule. We date this information and describe it in ranges rather than exact figures where a range is more honest. Always confirm current pricing, stock and terms directly with the provider before you buy, enrol or book. Figures on Topin.pk are a research starting point, not a quotation.

What we do not do

We do not publish invented statistics, unsourced superlatives, or performance claims we cannot support. We do not publish star ratings or review scores presented as aggregated user data, and we do not add review schema markup that would show ratings we did not collect.

Re-checking published articles

Articles are re-checked on a schedule set by how quickly the category changes, and whenever a reader or provider flags something. The last-updated date on every article tells you when it was last reviewed.

Reporting an inaccuracy

If you spot an error, send it to us with the article link and a source if you have one, using our contact form. Verified errors are fixed under our corrections policy.
